Itinerary:

  • Approx. 4-5 hours, 20 Km

    • 9:00 AM: Meet your guide and driver at our office for brief introductions. Drive to the morning market to buy food supplies, then proceed to the kayaking start point.
    • Morning: Receive a brief tutorial on kayaking techniques and safety. Paddle on calm waters, then stop at Sop Tud village to visit the Lanten people, known for their indigo dye and paper-making. Engage with the locals and learn about their culture.
    • Lunch: Enjoy a picnic by the Namtha River.
    • Afternoon: Continue kayaking through rapids and whitewater surrounded by mountains. Stop to visit the Khmu people before reaching Houylued village, where a tuk-tuk will transfer you back to town, arriving around 4-5 PM.

    Note: The best time for kayaking is from June to November. Low water levels from December to May may make kayaking challenging.
