Experience adventure-class kayaking on the Nam Ha River in Luang Namtha, Northern Laos. Paddle through exciting rapids and whitewater, surrounded by the stunning scenery of Nam Ha NPA. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the river, taste fresh local food, and visit multicultural minority villages.

Itinerary:

  • Approx. 5-6 hours, 22 Km

    • 9:00 am: Depart for Ban Tasae, the kayaking starting point. Receive basic instructions on kayaking techniques and safety.
    • Paddle through the agricultural lands of the Khmu people and lush tropical forests along the Nam Ha NPA.
    • Encounter a series of rapids against a backdrop of natural beauty.
    • Visit Khmu village of Ban Nalan and Lantan village of Ban Namkoy to learn about local cultures.
    • Stop for a picnic lunch by the river.
    • Continue downriver, alternating between calm waters and rapids, with potential wildlife sightings.
    • End the trip at Houaylued village around 4:00 pm and return to the office by Tuk Tuk.

    Note: The best time for kayaking on the Nam Ha River is from June to November.
