This 1-day jungle trek includes visiting the Khmu and Lanten minority villages, walking through the dense Nam Ha NPA Forest, learning about herbs and edible plants, discovering how indigenous people use natural resources for survival, and cooking in bamboo or banana leaves. Enjoy a Khmu-style jungle picnic lunch.

Itinerary:

  • Approx. 3-4 hours daily

    • 9:00 am: Depart from the office by Tuk-Tuk.
    • 40-minute drive: Stop at a local market for supplies, then Chalernsouk village to pick up a local guide.
    • Begin trek: Ascend gradually from Doiluckkam (Gold Mountain) into Nam Ha NPA. Guides share knowledge of medicinal plants, edible leaves, and survival techniques.
    • Lunch: Enjoy a Khmu picnic lunch prepared in the jungle.
    • Continue trek: Downhill through primary forest to rice paddy fields.
    • 3-4 pm: End trek at Nam Ha village, visit briefly, and return to Luang Namtha by Tuk-Tuk.
